Jersey Retired During Monday AHS Soccer Game

The late Christopher Baker was remembered Monday at Mountaineer Field by having his soccer jersey retired.

“We appreciate our family, our friends and Christopher’s teammates, who came out tonight to share in this bittersweet moment,” said his parents, Rodney and Doris, in a statement read during the ceremony.

“Soccer was a huge part of Christopher’s life, and he was never more alive than when he was on the soccer field. Thanks to each of you for keeping him alive, in your hearts.”

Christopher’s parents also thanked Kelly Huff, Ty Dobbs, Dwayne Ross, Jose Aragones and Alleghany High School for honoring Christopher’s memory and retiring his number 11 jersey.
