Alleghany Humane Society Kicks Off Holiday Drive

LOW MOOR — The Alleghany Humane Society’s annual Holiday Pet Food, Supplies and Fund Drive has begun, and they are asking for the public’s help.

The shelter continues to receive an unprecedented number of dogs and cats. Now more than ever, the shelter is needed to ensure that pets without loving homes have temporary housing, food, and care until they find their forever families.

The Humane Society is working hard to meet the demands at the shelter, and needs the community’s help to achieve our mission.

Needs include liquid bleach, dishwashing liquid, squeaky toys and balls for the dogs, disinfecting wipes, cat toys and treats, dishwasher pods, medium size plastic litter pans, Purina dog chow complete, Purina kitten chow in yellow bag, Purina cat chow (blue and green bags), Alpo gravy canned food for dogs, Friskies pate and shreds for cats, paper towels, Arm & Hammer liquid laundry detergent, gently used blankets and comforters, dog and cat sponsors, carriers ,and wire crates.

Most importantly, they need adoptive families, foster homes, volunteer assistance, and monetary support.

Donations can be made at the Alleghany Humane Society on Rich Patch Road.
