MPCA Planning Fourth Annual 'Hi Neighbor' Day

MILLBORO — The Millboro Preservation and Cultural Associa-tion, Inc. will hold its fourth annual “Hi Neighbor” Family Fun Day on Saturday, Aug. 19, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the front lawn of the old Millboro School across from BARC in Millboro.

The day’s itenerary includes food, games, music a car show and plenty of family fun.

Hand crafters will include Ron Shifflett, woodworking; Todd Lacks, painting; and Haley Deem, jeweler. Other crafter spaces are available for $5.

Registration for the car show is $10 per entry.

Other activities include bouncy houses, milking cow and goat competitions, darts, ring toss dime pitch, silent auction, yard sale, duck pond and cake wheel.
From 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., money bingo will be played.

Leroy Stephenson will provide music throughout the day. Live music includes performances by Charlie Mick at 1 p.m.; Betty Jean Lockbidge at 2 p.m.; Plain and Simple at 3 p.m. and Kik Graz (Denny Fitzgerald) 4 p.m.

A cornhole tournament will begin at 2 p.m. Registration is $10 per person.

“Bring your entire family and a lawn chair to spend the day reminiscing with your neighbors, enjoying live music, great food and games for everyone,” said Stephanie Forbes of the MPCA.

Admission is free. No alcoholic beverages will be allowed.
