DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Nancy Jane Snyder Feuerstein died on March 31, 2018.
Born in Fremont, Neb. on June 5, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Donald J. Snyder and Frances McDermitt Snyder.
She is survived by her husband, John W. Feuerstein, Daytona Beach; her brother, James D. Snyder and his wife, Sara Lu, Covington; her nephews, R. Meade Snyder and his wife, Catherine, Warm Springs; and Lee J. Snyder and his wife, Una, Marietta, Ga.; two great-nieces, Sarah and Megan Snyder, Marietta; several cousins and members of her husband’s family.
She attended Washington College in Chestertown, Md. and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1959.
She taught mathematics at Seven Hills School in Lynchburg and at St. Agnes School in Alexandria.
She later worked in research at several government agencies in Washington, D.C., including the National Science Foundation, Post Office Department, Department of Transportation and Department of Education. She held several high-level management positions.
She had been active in the Daytona Beach Symphony Society and Guild for many years.
Nancy visited in Covington frequently and lived here briefly in the mid-1990s.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
