Pamela Bennington McCormack, 62, of 1427 S. Carolton Drive, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at her residence.
She was born June 23, 1955, in Waynesboro, a daughter of the late Raymond K. and Ruth Jean Kent Bennington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill McCormack, and two sisters-in-law, Gwen Lindsey and Gabrielle “Gabby” McCormack.
Pam was member of the last graduating class of Madison College in Harrisonburg, now known as James Madison University.
She was Teacher in the Covington City School System for 27 years, retiring in 2014.
Pam was an active member of Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Adult Choir, the Women’s Circle of the Church and the Outreach Program.
Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Bobby McCormack, of Covington; her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and James Rivero of Richmond; her son and daughter in-law, Ryan and Sarah McCormack of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Addison McCormack and Kellan McCormack; her brother and sister –in-law, Tim Bennington and his wife, Barbara, of Covington; her sister and brother in law, Kathy Bennington Byers and her husband Jody of Covington; two brothers – in- law, David McCormack and his wife, Karlee, of Troutville and Steve McCormack of Covington; sister –in-law, Carolyn Hinkle of Covington ; brother-in-law, Bob Lindsey of Roanoke and sister-in-law, Julie McCormack.
The funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon, August 13, 2017, at 2:00 PM in the Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Russell Urban officiating.
The interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive their friends Saturday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
